Tulbaghia violacea Society Garlic
Common Names: Society Garlic
Species: Tulbaghia violacea
Family: AMARYLLIDACEAE
Society Garlic is quite a stinky plant. Its garlic-like scent can be smelt from quite a distance away on a hot day and it's quite strong when the plant is brushed against. I fried the chopped leaves as a garlic substitute once and ended up smelling like the retched thing for a couple of days, so I'm a little biased against this plant. Its purple flower are quite pretty though.
